Holistic Stakeholder Engagement
Leveraging neuroscience and mindfulness for effective stakeholder engagement
with Kathy Berkidge & Liz Calder
7th April 2022 - 9:30 to 16:30
Grand Connaught Rooms, Nr Covent Garden, London
Successful business analysis relies on effective stakeholder engagement. BAs must understand various stakeholder types, perspectives, and attitudes to ensure they are engaged and will work with you to deliver successful project outcomes. Dealing with ‘difficult’ stakeholders is a challenge many of us face in our fast-changing world.

Many existing tools and techniques are used to plan, analyse and monitor stakeholder engagement but over recent years new techniques have emerged which add a deeper human element to that engagement.

Firstly, behavioural economics and neuroscience give us evidence-based insights into why people make the decisions they do.

Secondly, mindfulness techniques help you to better empathise with your stakeholders and communicate with them more effectively. Leveraging these two together to understand the drivers for people’s decisions alongside a mindfulness approach that builds rapport, trust and fosters effective working relationships with stakeholders brings a deeper human element to our engagements.

This course provides practical tools and techniques, such as the Stakeholder Engagement Canvas, to understand stakeholders and how they are influenced by cognitive bias. You will learn about mindfulness and its benefits along with some simple mindfulness practices. In addition, you will learn how to then use mindfulness to build successful stakeholder engagement.
